South Korea’s ministry for culture has promised to support the country’s webtoon industry.
It aims to do that by eradicating illegal sites that copy and paste webtoon content and by supporting translations into various languages.
Minister PARK Bo-gyoon on Friday met with a group of people from the webtoon industry including three artists and other officials.
While discussing the current landscape as well as ways for the industry to grow, Park said that webtoons are a symbol of a “culturally attractive country”.
