Ukrainian culture fair to take place in Londonderry Saturday

Some Ukrainian families have made it to safety in America and some are here in New Hampshire after leaving their country of Ukraine due to war with Russia. The growing Ukrainian community is looking to give back to Granite Staters and help those in their homeland at the same time. Lena Neruk and other Ukrainian women are hosting a cultural fair to show off their homeland. “We want to create some events so people in America would understand and listen to our music, ”Lena Neruk said. The women are grateful that Londonderry Town Common will play host this Saturday to everything Ukraine. ”That’s why we want to show our nation and our hospitality to our neighbors and all Granite Staters, so they can come and it with their own eyes and ears, Nataliya Androsovych said. It’s also a fundraising opportunity. Everyone who moved to New Hampshire from Ukraine has a father, brother or another who has been left behind to fight the fight. “This is our way to raise money because they do need help. They need help more now than ever because it’s been going on for two months and some areas are running low on water, ”Kateryna Ridloy said. They hope those who attend this Saturday will learn about Ukraine, not from the news or images of war, but from the kindness and friendliness of its people. Zhanna Samaruk said. The Ukrainian cultural fair will take place May 7 from 11 am to 4 pm on the Londonderry Town Commons.
